Summary

An experiment was conducted at a farmer's field in Sankharapur, Kathmandu, Nepal, from March to June 2024to demonstrate the Effect Of Dehaluming Methods And Timing On Yield And Storability Of Potato. Theexperiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with five treatments and fourreplications. The various treatments used in the experiment were T1: No Dehaulming (Farmer’s Practice).T2: Hand Cutting + 1 week before harvest T3: Chemical Dehaulming + 1 week before harvest T4: Hand Cutting+2 weeks before harvest T5: Chemical Dehaulming + 2 weeks before harvest. The data were analyzed with RStudiosoftware at a 5% level of significance. Dehaulming methods and timing did not significantly affecttuber yield or dry matter content. Dehaulming 1 week before harvest consistently produced the best results(0.66476) across all storage parameters. Dehaulming 2 weeks before harvesting significantly reduces yield(2194.94 kg/ha) and storage quality. Again, the dehaulming method, whether done by hand or by chemicalmeans, did not significantly influence the outcomes. Farmers may, therefore, choose methods of dehaulmingthat suit their preferences, financial status, or environmental consciousness.
