BIOEFFICACY OF DIFFERENT PLANT EXTRACTS AGAINST CUCURBIT FRUIT FLY ZEUGODACUS CUCURBITAE (COQUILLETT) IN SUMMER SQUASH, PARBAT, NEPAL
ABSTRACT
A field study was conducted at Gokuleshwor Agriculture and Animal Science College to evaluate the yield performance of local and improved maize varieties during the spring season. The experiment, carried out from March 29, 2020, to July 15, 2020, aimed to assess the relationship among yield components. The varieties tested included Arun 2, Deuti, Rampur-4, Mankamana 6, Posilo Makai 1, and Local, with the experiment following a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications and six treatments. Data collection involved sampling plants from each plot without replacement. The study highlighted that the productivity of maize is significantly impacted by both local and improved varieties. Notably, Posilo Makai-1 and Arun-2 demonstrated superior yield and quality compared to other varieties tested during the spring season at Gokuleshwor Baitadi.
